He is the one you are looking for, the one who will bring you true happiness!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I feel in my heart a desire to be a priest and to lead people, as best I can, through the sacraments, the Word and the gift of myself, to Christ who saves us. So many people are unfamiliar with him or know him so little; they seek him, consciously or unconsciously, because they thirst for light and true life!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong><strong><strong>A verse from the Bible?<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p><em><strong>\u2018What we proclaim is not ourselves, but this: Jesus Christ is Lord; and we are your servants for Jesus\u2019 sake.<\/strong><\/em><br><em><strong>For God, who said, \u201cLet light shine out of darkness,\u201d has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God, which shines on the face of Christ.<\/strong><\/em><br><em><strong>But we carry this treasure in earthen vessels\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p><cite><strong><strong>2 Corinthians 4:5\u20137<\/strong><\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>R\u00e9mi Charpigny<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>70 years old<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>from Berry &#8211; Sologne<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>\u201cThere is no greater love than to lay down one\u2019s life for one\u2019s friends\u201d<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;John 15:13<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong>What did you do before joining the community?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A widower, father of four children and grandfather of nine grandchildren, I could have enjoyed a peaceful retirement by the sea, serving the Lord in the same way I had served alongside my wife. But answering God\u2019s call gives me the certainty that I am in the right place, that I am happy there, and also the assurance that my children will receive His grace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong><strong>What recharges your batteries?<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Spending quality time with my children, exercising regularly, going for walks in the countryside, and picking mushrooms.<\/p>\n<\/div><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dam.chemin-neuf.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Remi-819x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22878 size-full\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong><strong><strong>Why do you want to become a priest now?<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because this is the place to which the Lord has called me, and so it is the place where I am assured that my life will bear fruit, whilst remaining aware that this fruitfulness is beyond my control, for it belongs to God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><br><strong>Was there a key moment when you realised that God was calling you?<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My wife passed away peacefully after the suffering she had been enduring came to an end. She slipped away very gently, like a little candle. At midnight, three and a half hours after her death, I was in the shower and heard the following words:\u00a0<em>\u2018You are going to become a priest. \u201d<\/em>\u00a0Such a word is heard not only through the ears, but, I would say, through every pore of my skin. It is impossible to forget a word revealed in this way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Timoth\u00e9e Tillard<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>36 years old<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>born on R\u00e9union Island<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Passionate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Eager<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Approachable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dam.chemin-neuf.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Timothee-819x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22889 size-full\"\/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong>What did you do before joining the community?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I studied carpentry for three years. I graduated in 2012, just before starting my training at Hautecombe Abbey. I then joined the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong><strong>What recharges your batteries?<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Community life, music and silence in the mountains!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong><strong><strong>Why do you want to become a priest now?<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Firstly, because the Lord has called me to this. I am convinced that it is through obedience to His voice that my calling has become clearer in my life and that it will stand firm.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Secondly, because I would like to make the Father\u2019s face of mercy and love more visible in this world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p><em><strong><em><strong>\u201cWhoever has seen me has seen the Father\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/p><cite><em><strong><em><strong>John 14:9<\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The priest is the face of Jesus on earth, through the sacraments, but also through his whole life. At least, he strives to be so. I hope to be that face for those I will serve in my priesthood. To make more visible the presence of Jesus, who Himself sought to make visible the face of His Father.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><em><strong>A verse from the Bible?<\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>2 Timothy 4:17.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><em>\u201cBut the Lord has helped me. He has given me strength so that, through me, the proclamation of the Gospel might be fulfilled to the very end and that all nations might hear it. I was living in Levallois-Perret, where I got to know the local community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong><strong>What recharges your batteries?<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Running<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Theology (yes, I do enjoy taking online courses during my holidays)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Having a drink with the lads (that\u2019s an absolute must)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong><strong><strong>Why do you want to become a priest now?<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It brings me such joy and a real sense of purpose to proclaim Christ, especially to young people through the celebration of the sacraments, so that he may give himself to humanity and pour out his mercy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>A nothing without the Lord, and that it is He who draws me to Himself and grants me His grace so that I may follow Him&#8230; and what a journey it is: the Song traces the soul\u2019s path towards union
