Uy Sa Nguyen is originally from Vietnam. She lives at the Tigery community center, located in the Paris suburbs. This consecrated sister serves the community house and the groups that are hosted there.

Why are you making a lifelong commitment to the Chemin Neuf community?
Because Jesus has granted me the grace to truly grow, the grace to embrace life itself more than just the consecrated and communal life lived at Chemin Neuf. And He has called me to stay there, to live there so that I may bear witness to this precious gift alongside the other brothers and sisters of the congregation.
How did your desire to get involved come about?
It was during a silent community retreat four years ago. I received this “invitation” from the Lord: “Do you want to be my sister? ” I understood that He wanted me to be a sister to those who would cross my path. It’s true that I loved my life. To fully embrace the call to be a sister in the Chemin Neuf community and in Jesus, I had to go a long way… I’m convinced that being a sister doesn’t amount to much. But it’s always nice to have one!
What aspects of community life give you a sense of fulfillment?
Brotherhood. It is a great blessing to always know that I am loved by the Lord and by the brothers and sisters He has given me in community life. During my very first silent retreat while in formation at Hautecombe Abbey, the sister who was my spiritual guide gave me a prophetic word: “Sa, the brothers will save you.” Ten years later, that word is still true.
Is there a word that guides you on this journey?
I’ve always been haunted by this question: life is so vast, yet my heart is too small. How can I embrace it fully? I’m not up to the task! And the Lord said to me: “Yes, Sa, it’s true that you’re not up to the task. But that’s okay! It’s true that your heart is too small, which is why it has room for only one thing: Me! ” Yes, deep down, since I’m not capable on my own, I depend so much on His grace, on my brothers and sisters. And that’s wonderful!
