The Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius

Silent retreats according to the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius of Loyola.

For people who wish:

  • to place themselves before God,
  • to come to know Christ more intimately in order to love Him and serve Him better,
  • to recognise God's call for them and to make the decision to respond to it.

Held in places conducive to silence and contemplation. During these retreats we offer:

  • talks and teachings,
  • times for personal prayer with Biblical passages,
  • times of community prayer,
  • daily personal spiritual accompaniment.

Saint Ignace

Saint Ignatius of Loyola (1491-1556), founder of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits).

Ignatius of Loyola wrote the Spiritual Exercises as a result of his own experience of searching for God's will for his life. As a consequence, he invites people wanting to respond to God's call to follow these 'exercises' rather than just reading them.

Pope Paul VI: “The practice of the Exercises constitutes not only an invigorating pause for our spirits in the midst of all the noise of modern life, which reinforces our search for God's will. Even more today, it constitutes an irreplaceable school for leading our souls to a greater intimacy with God, to the love of goodness and to a true vision of life as a gift from God and a response to His call.”
